Bodies of Medford couple found in Brighton self-storage unit
Suspect arrested
A Medford man has been arrested for allegedly murdering and dismembering two of his neighbors whose bodies were found in a Brighton storage unit.
According to the Middlesex County District Attorney's office, Leonid Volkov, 37, is accused of stabbing Kiryl Schukin, 37, and Pavel Vekshin, 28, who were married, after a dispute over a lease agreement. The bodies of the victims were found in rubber bins inside a storage facility on April 14. Investigators believe Volkov used the victims' names and belongings to access the storage facility and their apartment.
Schukin and Vekshin had last been reported seen on April 9.
Schukin's LinkedIn page listed him as a cybersecurity expert at EPAM Systems, a software-engineering firm. Vekshin, a native of St. Petersburg, Russia, was a photographer, and moved to the Boston area in 2021.
